Senokian Solutions is a leading UK based provider of web based solutions to customers across the World. As the company project manager, I was responsible for overseeing all project and for the management of a team comprised of seven software developers and two systems engineers. Using Agile methodologies and by implementing a unified project management system I was able to reduce the total project workload to a manageable level and increase productivity significantly. Furthermore, due to my extensive experience in software engineering I was able to develop my role to include requirement consultation with clients and significant involvement in the sales process.
Lead Systems Developer, CAP

As the lead developer at CAP, it has been my responsibility to project manage all phases of the development lifecycle, engineering new integrated systems and improving existing ones. These include HR, Donor Relationship Management, Semantic Publishing and Switchboard Handling. A wide range of technologies were used in the implementation and maintenance of these systems including PHP, XML, SQL, Java, AJAX, Javascript and CalDav. The majority of applications involved the extensive use of the Zend Framework. Furthermore working within the IT department I was able to improve request handling procedures, SLAs and to implement cost saving measures by integrating open source systems in to a largely Microsoft based environment. My experience at CAP has been invaluable, having the opportunity to work with a wide variety of challenges and IT needs while contributing to charity which is changing peoples lives daily.
Developer, Shell STEP Program & Senokian Solutions

In the summer of 2006 I was a successful applicant to the Shell Enterprise Program (STEP). As part of this scheme I was placed at Senokian Solutions, a SME based at the Business Innovation Centre in Coventry. Within this position I worked as part of a team to develop Senokian’s primary product, the Enterprise Groupware System. This involved working with a wide variety of product areas including CRM and ERP systems . These systems were developed using PHP, PostgreSQL and Javascript and Senokian’s own PHP framework. I believe the STEP scheme was extremely beneficial, enabling me to improve communication skills, learning vital skills required for software engineering and providing me with a good overview of how real world systems are developed.

Working as a part time support assistant within the IT department enabled me to gain an important insight into how IT systems and end users interact. My responsibilities were to ensure systems were functioning correctly and providing second line support to users when required.
