To embed a youtube or google video player, all you need to do is insert one simple tag into your page which takes the form [ youtube:URL] or [ googlevideo:URL]

  1. how do you install this? Is it a mambo, plugin or extension?

All these terms are so confusing as I have seen this product referenced 1001 ways! It doens’t install as a module or component so I’m guessing it’s a mambot…but am clueless on that process.

Is there some easy step by steps anywhere to help me?

    Shawn

  2. OK. Erase my comment above!

I was not getting how to install this as version 0.2 would not install on my system, but version 0.1 would!

I get the following error when trying to upload/install the mambot: ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

I’m running Joomla! version Joomla! 1.0.12 on Microsoft-IIS/5.0

    carboncow@gmail.com with any comments!

  3. Hi Paul

I think your EasyTube is the best embed product on the market. However, there is a new site from which I’d like to embed videos – http://www.ted.com/talks – do you have any plans to put out a new easytube version to include this site….if not, please would you consider it?

    Many thanks

  4. Got it working. Had a bit of trouble at first. Didn’t realize I was running an old Joomla version. Had to install a different version of EasyTube. Seems to work fine now. Thanks.

  5. To get make this pass the W3C validation, i modified the four major lines – here is the 1st:

    $replace = 'You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video';

It’ll also center it. About the same for the other 3 lines.

  6. Hej Paul,

Im getting this error when I go to mambots and try to save/apply it:
Warning: fopen(/home/~/mambots/content/easytube.xml) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/~/administrator/includes/admin.php on line 45

Do you have any clue what Im doing wrong?? I even made the admin.php file 777 but nothing happens :o
I also wanted to look @ the how to install movie but the site which is hosting it is restarting over so no way to view that one either.

I now have put the .xml file manually in the right folder 2 because that 1 wasnt there but the plugin still doest work. Help!?!?

    Best regards, Paul
