The URL is the url of the video in Youtube or Google Videos, just copy and paste from your browser address, e.g. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nTRfxikK9aQ
You can also set the width and height of the player as follows:
[ youtube:URL WIDTH HEIGHT] or [ googlevideo:URL WIDTH HEIGHT]

can you set the initial volume setting….it’s really quiet when the video loads, but i have developed a site for blind users so it needs to be initially a bit louder.
I get EasyTube to embed in a Joomla content item, but not in a VirtueMart product detail page, which uses the same html editor. Any ideas? (The shop isn’t live on the site now, in case you check).
Have installed the mambot but cannot get it to show youtube videos. When I view the page I’ve got a video link on, all I get is
[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb1_h9bguvI
Hi,
I use the easytube plugin on my website and it works great, but the backgroundcolor is white and my website is black.
Any chance I can change the background color of the video?
(I mean the color that is around the videoplayer)
thanks in advance
Hi Anton,
There is a way to do this but it will involve editing the script. I am considering doing this as standard so if you can hang on a couple of days, I will make it look sweet (hopefully).
Paul
Hi Paul,
Sure I could wait a couple of days, no problem…
It would only make my website look better and I can finally show my own made videos on my own website…
Would be superb if this would be possible!
Thanks man.
Excellent plugin – worked first time. easy!
I’m seeing just the text of my post “[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb1_h9bguvI
I’m using joomla 1.5RC on my test site, any idea of what could be causing this. I did not see a specific download for 1.5, but it was listed as compatible.
Have you activated the plugin after installation? I have also just written a version for Joomla 1.5 so it may be work installing that.
Thanks
Paul
Paul,
wonderful plugin: it’s simple and it works very well for me.
One thing I was still thinking about: is it possible for the video to start automatically when opening the page?
:~Davied
There is a way, but I will need to edit the script! What system are you using? I’ll add it to that script first.
Wonderful simple plugin!
Is it possible to add flickr to this plugin?
I’m looking into using this plugin with my googlemaps plugin.
Mike
It probably is possible. What exactly would you want the flickr part to do? Just create a flash badge or show a specific picture?
Everything seems correct, I’m even trying some of the sample videos, but still I only have the tag showing up nothing else.
this is what I get,
http://www.ntxbmx.com/testsite
What do you mean with flash badge?
I would like to show a specific photo.
I’ve integrated your plugin with my plugin Googlemaps and it works great!
See at Integration
It’s now easy to add video in a googlemap.
Mike
The install fails for me saying :-

ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

What version are you using to do this? The current version is for 1.5 of joomla. If it doesnt work, try the older version, the mambot for Mambo.
Hi Paul.
I’m using Joomla 1.0.13.
I’ve downloaded your bot but can’t install it.
I get errors “ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.”
Is it a 4th Dimention trick? Everyone seem to be ok and using it.
I took it from there: http://www.paulbain.co.uk/files/mambo/easytube-joomla-0.2.zip
Solved I downloaded Mambo latest version and it works like a charm! Great work
I don’t understand. How is this different than just creating a content page and inserting the ‘embed video’ string that youtube gives you right on your video page? That’s all I did.. and works just fine.
????
It’s just for speed of use and to help people who are using WYSIWYG editors. Try pasting the embed code into the TinyMCE editor and see what you get!
What I need for my site is this:
1. Module to display in frontpage
2. Create a URL’s list of videos
3. Display random video from the list
Make a difference.
Hi there,
I’ve set this up in Joomla trying to get at Googlevideos and no luck… you can see it here
http://www.cactusclimbing.co.nz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=146&Itemid=91
Any ideas (I’ve looked at the source of the tag and it seems ok)..
Any help appreciated.
Hi Gwilym, I can view that page as its locked, if you could either send me the source of the page after it has loaded or put it on a page I can view I should be able to help.
Paul
Hey Paul, it’s me again. I already commented more above about the white background of videos so, im here again to ask you how will i know about the “fixed” script? Are you gonna put a warning here when it’s okie to download or will you email me saying the news? Just for asking…
Thank-you.
nice! thanks alot for this plugin, been looking for one to do this for my site!

I am using Joomla 1.5RC with the latest nightly builds installed. I use TinyMCE version 2.1.1.1 as WYSIWYG editor. Problem: no video shows. Just the text I had put before the link and the text after the youtube link.
The plugin is published, of course
Any idea what the problem could be ?
Thanks
Frank
Hi,
I have the same problem as DAN… I entered the sintax in the main story of my news and I got this error:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nTRfxikK9aQ” height=”" type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”http://www.youtube.com/v/”>You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
Any solution?
I’m having exactly the same problem with 1.5. I’ve tried using an HTML editor and putting the tag in there (although I know that it shouldn’t make a difference). I’ve tried spaces at the front, back middle. HELP — looks like a great component but only if it works.

Hi, I downloaded the 1.5 version… It installs successfully. EasyTube does not show in the plugin manager so I cannot enable it. It does show as a plugin that I can uninstall though.
Any ideas? Thank you! Ricky
It now shows up and works!! (just did) Thanks.
i have been trying to install this manbot but there is no way to make the upload complete or inmstallation
besides there is no installation program or xml
i can see only 3 files
what is the trouble to install that grrr its dryving me crazy grrr
help me out here >(
I can gess your problem! You are using Joomla which is less than version 1.5. For this version you need to use a mambot not the joomla plugin. Don’t blame me, blame joomla for changing their plugin stucture!
Thanks
Paul
I just wanted to say for those people who have been seeing the error message about requiring a browser based flash player – Well that was it for me. I went to Adobe and installed the IE plugin and everything works like those people with no problem…..
Thanks for a really useful simple mambot. Is it possible to set videos to autoplay? It isn’t something I’d want to do often, but occasionally it’s useful.
I’ve tried adding the &autoplay=1 to the video url but JCE is rewriting the ampersand. Even editing the database directly it still doesn’t work.
Wondered if it would be easy to include this as a variable.
hi there,
ive been trying to the plugin with mambo for embedding youtube and google videos on to my site. but i cant seem to make them work in internet explorer. it seems on this site the vid doesnt work in IE either.
does anyone have a solution for this?
also does anyone know about google maps???!
just to show you….here is what I am trying to do…
http://shonaghhurley.blogspot.com/ (on my blog you can see a number of
maps-holding video and picture information)
I want to put those maps on to my company website…
http://www.newberlintours.com/nbt/in…id =2&lang=en
(i want the maps to be in place of where the 4 videos are -you will see near the top of the page!)
Does anyone know a simple way to do this?
will have to plot all the individual markers manually myself?
thanks so much everyone x
shonagh x xx
It works fine with mambo version 4.6.2.
Be carrefull using only one whitespace between URL, WIDTH and HEIGHT
The trick is to use the mambo 1.0 on joomla. It worked like a champ!! Love it!!

However, it does not work. The "&" [ampersand] is not working.
Any help on this?

Hi Paul,
I have Joomla RC3 and EasyTube v.0.2 for Joomla 1.5. I can’t seem to make it work. Only the text show up. But as I was playing with it, I found that if I don’t publish it, it works. When I publish it, it becomes text. I hope this is useful.

IF YOU ARE GETTING CANNOT FIND XML YOU ARE USING THE WRONG VERSION! USE THE VERSION WHICH IS FOR MAMBO. THE CURRENT VERSION IS FOR JOOMLA 1.5+
Heyyy nice work! I really like this work of yours. How ever, I do have a question or rather a request. Is’t it possible make/ creat a module that shows the latest video on either right side or left side of front side? Just like the Ramdom image module but with intro text with it?
Anyway I appreciate your work.
Thanks
